Every vessel and experience on Boatigo is unique

Your safety is a priority when you use the Boatigo site.   Here are some ways you can make sure your trip goes as smooth as possible.

1. Search and join with confidence

Find the exact trip you are looking for by utilising our many search filters such as trip type, location and features.  Be sure that you read the Skippers's profile as well as the listing thoroughly - paying special attention to features and trip descriptions.

2. Read the ratings and reviews

Look through feedback from past Crew.  You will see ratings and detailed reviews with feedback about the experience.  Crew reviews are verified with Skippers to ensure the Crew member did join the Skipper on the water.  This way you can rest assured knowing that the feedback you're seeing is based on actual experiences.

3. Ask your questions

Our secure messaging tool is the safest and easiest way for you to communicate with Skippers.  Use this to ask questions about their vessel or trip before you secure a seat.  Once you have, you can also message your Skipper to coordinate and stay in touch.

4. Always communicate on Boatigo

Keep yourself and your personal information protected by staying on our secure platform throughout the entire Boatigo process - from communication to securing a seat.  By using our secure inbuilt messaging system, you don't have to give out your personal phone number or email address to Crew.

5. Safety first

While it is a condition of Skippers listing a vessel on Boatigo that ALL safety requirements are met for the waters they are conducting the trip in, we recommend that you ask a few safety questions on the day of the trip yourself such as:

  • Are there life jackets for all people on board and their location?
  • Is there a first aid kit?

6.  Skipper Instructions

It is important that Crew listen to and abide by Skipper's instructions at all times throughout the trip.  If Crew are asked to assist in any way, and they are competent to do so, Skippers greatly appreciate this.
